The preparation for NI Congresses involves a long lead-in time. The decision to hold NI2006 in Seoul, Korea, was made in 2001 at the IMIA-NI General Assembly, following a competitive bid against several other proposals.Publicity began in earnest at medinfo2004, when the Call for Submissions was officially launched (see photos). An international Scientific Programme Committee have helped steer the scientific content, but the real hard work has been undertaken by the local organisers in Korea.

The Scientific Programme Committee comprises:

  • Robyn Carr (New Zealand)
  • Hune Cho (Korea)
  • Connie Delaney (USA)
  • Peter Murray (UK)
  • Hyeoun-Ae Park (Korea - Chair)
  • Satoko Tsuru (Japan)

Local organisation is lead by Hyeoun-Ae Park and Jeongeun Kim.

Welcome to the NI2006 blog and podcasts site, brought to you by members of the hi-blogs.info team.

This site is currently (late April 2006) in the early stages of development. Over the coming weeks we will be adding new features, based in our experience of providing previous conference blogs. In particular, we will be adding in some of the features we have tested in the HC2006 and Rutgers2006 blogs, such as a swicki, podcast files produced with automatic text-to-speech conversion, Technorati tags, and much more.

We have a linked podcast site, which will be integral part of how we aim tp provide a variety of opportunities for those at NI2006 and those unable to attend, to participate actively in the event. The podcast site is provided by team member Margaret Maag, but we hope that others will also be actively involved - see ni2006.blogspot.com/
