MIE2006 - the 20th International Congress of the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI - www.efmi.org ) takes place in Maastricht, The Netherlands, from 27 - 30 August, 2006. See www.mie2006.org for the conference website. The theme of the event is 'Ubiquity: technologies for better health in aging societies'.

Rather than setting up a separate blog, as we have done for quite a few events in recent years, we will be posting news, stories and comments to Rod Ward's 'Informaticopia' health informatics blog, as we did for the AMIA2005 Fall Symposium. See www.rodspace.co.uk/blog/blogger.html

We invite you all to read and contribute to the discussions on the event.

Members of the hi-blogs.info 'crew' (thanks to Margaret for the term) have been busy blogging nursing informatics events - and we have not finished yet. In May, we produced a conferecne blog, and some associated podcast/vodcast experiments for the Rutgers nursing informatics event in Toronto, Canada  (see http://www.differance-engine.net/rutgers2006/ ), while in June, we relocated to Seoul, Korea for NI2006 (see http://www.differance-engine.net/ni2006blog/ ).

Just to prove that we do sometimes meet up in person, as well as online, we have the photos to prove it.

Photo 1: taken in Toronto, Canada - Peter Murray, Bill Perry, Scott Erdley and Margaret Maag.

Photo 2: taken in Seoul, Korea - Scott Erdley, Margaret Maag, Peter Murray,  Karl Oyri and Rod Ward.

Our next blog will be from SINI2006 in Baltimore - a reminder to follow.

Peter Murray
